Mushrooms
Phaelolus schweinitzii (Dyers polypore) gold, burnt sienna and pumpkin orange, very special brilliant colors
Naematoloma fasiculere (Sulphur tuft) Naples yellow a very precious color
Echinodontiom tinctorium (Indian Paint Fungus)  available in the Kootenays the colors are shades of red.
ALL mushrooms are rain dependant and very capricious indeed.

Lichens
Lobaria pulmonaria, a nice mid-range cinnamon brown, grows here on maples and old apple trees, and is reliable as a fall source when the South East winds blow it down
Wolf lichen makes a nice yellow. Even though yellow plant dyes are common, this particular dye has historical value, it was used by the Tlingit in their dance blankets, historically there has not been a lot of Native fiber arts here in BC and these blankets are very special.

Other plants

Black walnuts: rich chocolate;  a very fast dye indeed, just wonderful for beauty and fastness and it makes wool feel soft as well. This is a November color.
Goldenrod: very intense beautiful yellow, this is a mid-summer to fall color.
Pearly everlasting: needs to be dried to give a luminous straw color, it is a late August color.

There will be others as we go. We offer our customers the best in fastness so we will not offer dahlias, hollyhocks and other flower dyes, unless they are going to be kept in the shade, and at the explicit informed request of the customer. We provide reliable data on what can be expected from any dye.
