Prairie Fibre Mill is a small family run mill perched on the edge of the Bear Hills in Saskatchewan. A flock of Merino, Rambouillet and Romney sheep grazes the native pastures with guardian llamas nearby.

We dye two weights of Merino wool yarn:

2 ply yarn in 4 oz/ 220 yard skeins that we sell for 20 Canadian dollars per skein

1 ply yarn in 2 oz/ 220 yard skeins (custom orders for 20 Canadian dollars per skein) .

Here are 3 swatches graciously and expertly knitted by our post mistress Helene Racine from our 2 ply merino yarn

We asked Helene to "road test" our new merino yarn.

When she gave us the swatches, Helen commented "I don't like knitting swatches, they are boring, but this merino wool knits itself and it was pure pleasure. It is so soft I would wear it right up against my skin" .
